The Golden Circle & Glacier Private Super Jeep Day Tour

Experience the diversity of Icelandic nature in this action-packed day tour: Walk down a crevice formed by the tectonic plates, watch a geyser erupt, see one of Iceland's most beloved waterfalls, go off-roading on a glacier and photograph a crater lake. You travel in a private Super Jeep with a driver guide instead of a crowded vehicle with strangers. Travelling in a Super Jeep allows you to visit a glacier in addition to the other sites.
Your driver guide will pick you up at your hotel in Reykjavik in a modified Super Jeep, and head to Nesjavellir and Hengill volcano where you visit a geothermal power plant, and learn about how it provides Reykjavik with hot water and electicity without polluting.
Next stop is Thingvellir national park, where the Icelandic parliament was founded in 930 AD. This is where the Eurasian and North-American tectonic plates meet, having formed a crevice while slowly drifting apart.
After crossing Lyngdalsheidi you get to Gullfoss waterfalls. The name translates to "Golden Waterfall", and the "gold" is the rainbow that forms on sunny days over the waterfall as it cascades down the Hvita river in two steps. At Gullfoss is a café where you enjoy lunch. Then, powered by the Super Jeep, you drive onto Langjokull glacier where you go off-roading on the white plains of the glacier while enjoying the spectacular view.
Optional: An hour long snowmobile tour on the glacier.
After enjoying lunch you head to Geysir hot spring area. There you find Geysir, from where the English word "geyser" gets its meaning, and the geyser Strokkur which spouts boiling water 25-30 meters into the air every 5-10 minutes.
On the way back to Reykjavik you stop at Kerid Crater Lake. Because of minerals in the water it's an opaque and aquamarine colour. Once back in Reykjavik your driver guide will drop you off at your hotel or a restaurant of your choice.
