Itinerary for the Iceland Highlights

Day 1: Arrival in Iceland & Reykjavik City Tour Strokkur
A private car will be waiting to pick you up at the airport and take you to Reykjavik city.  Before going to your hotel the driver will take you on a tour of the city, showing you the main sights such as The Pearl, Hallgrimskirkja church, the City Hall and the National Museum of Iceland.  You'll also get an introduction of the 101 district where the main shopping street and restaurants are located. Accommodation: 4* hotel in the 101 district

Day 2: The Golden Circle & Glacier
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel the driver guide picks you up in a private modified Super Jeep, with comfortable leather seats and headrests.  You take the road east out of Reykjavik and to Thingvellir national park where the Icelandic parliament was founded in 870 AD.  Next you'll visit Geysir, the original geyser, and his "little brother", Strokkur which spouts boiling water 25-30 meters in the air every five to ten minutes.  A few minutes’ drive from Geysir is Gullfoss, the Golden Waterfall where you'll also stop for lunch. Now you get to enjoy true the benefits of going on this tour in Super Jeep as the driver guide takes you the rough mountain track to Langjokull glacier which is inaccessible to regular cars and busses.  On the glacier you can stop to photograph the panoramic view, and the driver guide takes you on a cruise on the white plains.  You also have the option of going snowmobiling and experience driving on a glacier first-hand.  On the way back to Reykjavik you visit Kerid Crater Lake which is opaque and aquamarine due to minerals in the water.  You return to Reykjavik in the afternoon.  Dinner is enjoyed at one of the many acclaimed restaurants in the city center.  In the evening a stroll along the main street is ideal, as many shops don't close until 10 pm.

Day 3: Easy Day in Reykjavik
You have a number of options today.  You can take a second Super Jeep tour and see more of the beautiful Icelandic countryside.  It's also possible to go on other trips, such as snorkeling, horseback riding, river rafting or whale watching just outside of the city. Of course you can stay in Reykjavik, stroll around downtown, go shopping, visit a museum or enjoy a relaxing day at Laugar luxury spa, where skin and massage treatments are available upon request.

Day 4: The Blue Lagoon and Departure
A private car will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the Blue Lagoon for a relaxing soak in the outdoor geothermal seawater.  The natural combination of silica, algae and minerals ensures that no harmful germs are in the Lagoon and leaves the skin silky smooth.  You have the option of getting a massage in the waters of the Blue Lagoon.

Depending on your departure time you may want to enjoy lunch at the Blue Lagoon's acclaimed restaurant, Lava.  The driver will take you to the airport in time for your flight.

Optional: It's possible to extend the trip by going on a Super Jeep tour of the Reykjanes peninsula.  The tour takes you along the back roads of the peninsula to explore the vast lava fields and hot springs formed in the area.

Optional: Northern Lights tour Auroras Super Jeep

Between September and April you can add a Northern Lights evening tour to the vacation.  A private Super Jeep will take you out of Reykjavik and into the countryside to hunt for the Aurora Borealis.  The Northern Lights are highly dependent upon weather so you only go if and when the conditions are favorable.

Please note: It's no problem to extend your vacation if you'd like to stay longer.  Please contact us for rates.
