Itinerary for the Weekend Idea

Day 1: Arrival in Keflavik Airport and Reykjavik City
A private taxi or a Super-Jeep picks you up at the airport and takes you to Reykjavik. Before checking into your 4* hotel, your driver takes you on a short city tour to familiarize you with the city center. We stop at Perlan for an overview of the city before continuing passed Hofdi, the house where Reagan and Gorbachev had their meeting in 1986 that ended the cold war, and then we make our way to the cathedral Hallgrimskirkja which is an easy landmark in Reykjavik and can be seen from all over the city. From the church we show you the main shopping streets, some of the best restaurants and the most popular bars and clubs. Then we assist you in checking in to your hotel. In the evening you enjoy dinner in the restaurant that we chose together prior to your arrival.

Day 2: South Shore Super-Jeep Sightseeing Tour and Snowmobiling on a Glacier
Our journey begins by driving east through Iceland´s countryside towards foot of Eyjafjallajokull glacier where we stop at the clear freefalling waterfall of Seljalandsfoss. We take a short walk behind the waterfall and to feel the refreshing spray and drizzle from one of Iceland´s highest waterfalls. Refreshed we continue to Myrdalsjokull, Iceland's fourth largest glacier and home of the famous volcano, Katla. After driving up to snow level on a mountain track we enjoy the incredible view and you have the option of going on a snowmobile on the glacier. It´s great fun. On the way back we go off-roading on the black sanded beach before we continue to Skogarfoss waterfall. We drop you off at your hotel in good time for you to relax a bit before going to dinner. Of course we will assist with finding the best restaurant for you and making a reservation.

Day 3: Golden Circle and Blue Lagoon
A private taxi or a Super-Jeep Departure from Reykjavik to volcano Hengill and Nesjavellir where we can learn about how the enormous geothermal power is harnessed to provide Reykjavik with both hot water and electricity without polluting. From there it´s only a short drive to Thingvellir where the oldest parliament in world was founded and you can see the tectonic plate boundaries. After Thingvellir we cross the mountain road of Lyngdalsheidi towards Geysir and Gullfoss where we stop for lunch. Seeing the geyser Strokkur spout boiling water 25-30 m high in the air is fantastic nature experience and the Geysir area has numerous other hot springs. After seeing Iceland’s most famous waterfall, Gullfoss up close and listening to its roaring thunder as it cascades 32 meters down the mighty glacial river Hvita we have lunch at Gullfoss café or Hotel Geysir before driving to Hveragerdi, known as the greenhouse village. On the way we take a short photostop at Kerid crater. From Hveragerdi we drive through the lunar landscape of the Reykjanes Peninsula to the Blue Lagoon where you enjoy a relaxing soak after a full day of seeing the nature pearls of Iceland. We drop you off at your hotel in good time for you to relax a bit before going to dinner. Of course we will assist with finding the best restaurant for you and making a reservation.

Day 4: Departure from Keflavik Airport
There are morning and afternoon flights to most destinations. We will arrange for a private taxi to the airport in time for your flight. If you have an afternoon flight, you will have the morning to relax or do some shopping in Reykjavik before we drop you off to the airport.

This is just an idea and an example what Iceland Private Tours can arrange for you.
