Taking your special someone on a 5-day break to Iceland in the winter is an unforgettable experience for you both.  This is a tour of contrast; in Reykjavik you stay at a 4* luxury hotel, by the main shopping street and a number of restaurants.  You have time to see the cultural life of the city, or take a romantic walk down by the ocean or by the pond, as well as indulge yourselves in a luxury spa treatment.  You also visit the Iceland interior, where the roads are covered in snow in the winter so you have to go in a modified Super Jeep.  There you stay overnight in a mountain cabin in the center of the highlands and relax in a natural geothermal pool in the barren wilderness.

Itinerary for the Winter Break tour

Day 1: Arrival & Easy Day in Reykjavik
A private car will pick you up at the airport and take you to Reykjavik, where the driver guide will take you on a short introduction tour of the 101 district, with its many small, charming houses and where there are a number of shop and restaurants.  Your hotel is located in the center and upon your arrival a bottle of sparkling wine and chocolate covered strawberries will be waiting in your room.  The afternoon can be spent in Reykjavik downtown, visiting some of the many shops and you can climb the tower of Hallgrimskirkja church for an amazing view of the city.
Dinner recommendation: For the best steaks in Reykjavik we recommend Argentina steakhouse and the atmosphere is very romantic
Accommodation: 4* Hotel in Reykjavik

Day 2: Relaxing Day at Laugar Spa
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel or at a local café you go to Laugar, a 5* luxury spa.  There are Olympic-size indoor and outdoor geothermal pools, outdoor and indoor hot tubs and Jacuzzis with hot and cold subterranean sea water.  Furthermore you'll find six saunas in the spa, all with different temperatures and scents, a relaxation room and a café. Your spa treatment starts with a Turkish bath with a body scrub, followed by a full body massage.  You then enjoy a light meal with wine at the spa restaurant, and afterwards get a deep nourishing facial and a manicure and a pedicure.  The manicure and pedicure use hot stones and oils.  This is a couple’s treatment and you are together in the same room for it.  Afterwards you can enjoy the saunas, steams and Jacuzzis in the spa.
Dinner recommendation: Seafood, we recommend The Fish Market and The Seafood Cellar for excellent seafood and cozy ambiance.
Accommodation: 4* Hotel in Reykjavik

Day 3: Super Jeep Tour to Hveravellir
In the morning you'll be picked up by a driver guide in a private Super Jeep.  The Super Jeep is modified especially to suit Icelandic road conditions in the winter, and it's also very comfortable with leather seats and headrests.  You begin your adventure by heading north out of Reykjavik and head into the highlands to Hveravellir.  The driver guide will choose the best route, either across Langjokull glacier or by the northern route.  Hveravellir is a hot spring area located in the wilderness of Iceland, and the road there is inaccessible in the winter except in Super Jeeps.  Meaning "hot spring fields", Hveravellir is a geothermal hot spot, with many colorful hot springs, steam vents and a natural geothermal pool.  The mountain hut has no electricity but it's recently renovated and always warm.  After your arrival you take a relaxing soak in the geothermal pool and toast a bottle of bubbly, while the driver guide prepares a 3 course dinner, which you enjoy in the hot spring.  In the evening you might see Northern Lights blaze across the sky, as you are far away from artificial city lights.
Accommodation: Hveravellir mountain cabin, in the quiet calm of the barren wilderness.

Day 4: The Golden Circle
The driver guide will prepare breakfast for you in the morning and then you head along the south Kjolur route.  In the winter it's covered with snow and a real winter wonderland.  At the southernmost part of Kjolur is Gullfoss, "The Golden Waterfall", and Geysir hot spring area.  There you see the geyser Strokkur spout boiling water 25-30 meters into the air.  You then take the road east through Thingvellir national park, where the Icelandic parliament was founded and the tectonic plates have formed a crevice where they are drifting apart.  You return to Reykjavik in time for dinner.
Dinner recommendation: Laekjarbrekka restaurant, known for its romantic atmosphere and delicious Icelandic cuisine.

Day 5: The Blue Lagoon & Departure
A private car will pick you up at the hotel and take you west to the Blue Lagoon, where you take a relaxing soak in the natural geothermal water.  The natural combination of silica, algae and minerals ensures that no harmful germs are in the Lagoon and leaves the skin silky smooth.  In addition, you will get a massage in the blue waters of the lagoon, surrounded by lava fields.  The driver will then take you to the airport in time for your flight.
